Jobs Americans Won't Do

We all have heard this line; the illegal immigrants are a problem because they do the jobs American’s won’t do. Perhaps that is true, but again, this would be the consequence of the government’s action. As I have said before, when the federal government tries to do something, in some perverse way, the results are the opposite of what they want. And welfare and all these programs the government has created have created a welfare state. NO, let the record show I don’t advocate removing all of these programs, we do need some of them, to a certain point. However, we have created a welfare state, with a mass of people dependent upon the government to survive, instead of depending on crazy ideas like hard work, family and perseverance. I think that American’s would do these jobs, if they had to. However it is far easier to life off the government’s dime, albeit not the greatest life. Why? Are we as a people afraid to try? Afraid to work our asses off? If I had no other choice I would pick tobacco. I am extremely lucky; I have a job at McDonalds. (Not that I like it that much, but it’s a job) I think what our country is missing, are the Rockefellers, the Fords, and the Carnegies. The people who were greedy and hard working and consequently, filthy stinking rich. I think people are afraid, if they realize it or not; afraid to have to work hard, and not get much, for that chance to work their way up. So my solution is simple. Stop the welfare, no not stop all of it tomorrow, over the next 10 years slowly reduce the amount. Ween people off of it. That and get rid of illegal immigrants, and build a wall on the border. And what would happen????? Unemployment would go down, because more Americans would be working, more people would be paying into the system and then the government could take some of the money currently being spent on welfare and spend the money in other areas, such as…… I don’t know…..PAYING OF THE 13 TRILLION DOLLARS WE HAVE IN DEBT!!! Yes this presents a simplified version. But I think it is an idea that would work. It worked during the great depression. I think anyone presented with the choice of starve or pick vegetable would obviously choose the second option. And while these jobs are currently being paid below minimum wage, the wages would have to go up once the cheap labour that can be found in illegal immigrants has left the country. I mean really if you think about it, someone was doing those jobs before the Hispanics. Who??? Americans!
